The Candidate

A woman that the media has not been so kind to over the past decade has been none other than Hilary Clinton. The former Secretary of State has been in the media for everything from staying with her husband after cheating allegations to the use of private serves for government emails. In 2016 Clinton made a run for the United State Presidency and in my opinion, we saw one of the ugliest media coverages of a women in politics. The coverage of Hilary Clinton is not about likeability, in many headlines we see questions like ''Why Do So Many Americans Hate Hilary Clinton''.  The American people do not trust Clinton and terms like ''Crooked Hilary'', coined by former President Trump have played immensely into the way people voted in the 2016 election. In many news reports, we find that Clinton has been the talk of degrading media since Bill Clinton's election as governor of Arkansas. She has been scrutinized for keeping her last name to the events of Benghazi.

Media can surely take a toll on the effects of one's career. When we look at date from the 2016 election, it was not that people did not agree with Clinton's platforms or find her educated. In fact many Americans thought that Clinton was well versed in politics, but her downfall was trust. The American people do not trust Clinton. Her politic career has seemingly come to and end and rightful so, it can be very hard to gain the trust of the people once it is lost. Clinton was quite the intelligent women, but one has to wondering how her time in politics has changed the way people trust women.
